World Nuclear Association announces new board members

World Nuclear Association is pleased to announce new appointments to our board of management, which will meet today in Toronto, Canada.
George Borovas is the head of Shearman & Sterling’s Global Nuclear Group and a partner in the firm’s Project Development & Finance Group,
Guillaume Dureau is Senior Executive Vice President, deputy to the CEO, Customer, Strategy, Innovation and R&D at AREVA.
Furthermore, Kirill Komarov, First Deputy Director General for Corporate Development and International Business, ROSATOM has been elected to the position of Vice Chairman.
Our Board of Management fulfils all statutory duties pertaining to the organisation's governance, sets policies and strategic objectives acting on proposals from the Director General.
The Board is also actively involved in the development of the Harmony programme, which has set a goal of supplying 25% of the world’s electricity by 2050. Achieving this means nuclear energy capacity must triple by 2050. This will require the construction of around 1000 GWe of new nuclear plant by that date.
The World Nuclear Association is the industry organisation that represents the global nuclear industry. Its mission is to promote a wider understanding of nuclear energy among key international influencers by producing authoritative information, developing common industry positions, and contributing to the energy debate, as well as to pave the way for expanding nuclear business.
